In ‘Marvels of the South -West’ you can witness five strongholds of local French traditions. Their work is a way of life through which we get a taste of fading traditions of the South-West of France. One could easily oversee their beauty. In the film you will meet an old basket weaver, you will see how ‘eau de vie’ is made, visit a flower mill that has been turning since 700 years, meet a family that still processes their own pig meat in a traditional way and you can have a taste of a traditional inn where you have lunch in the living room. The editing was led by Jan Ketelaars, my former teacher and friend. Tomas Postema, professional musician, composed the music. The post production took place in Utrecht and could be realized through a crowdfunding. ‘Guns for Hire’ has done the ‘mixage’ and ‘sound design’. At Metropolisfilm, where my friend Ton Wolswijk is in charge, the ‘color grading’ is done. I’m very happy with the result and very grateful for the support Jan, Tomas and Ton have given me.
I want to thank all the people who’ve helped me by funding the ‘postproduction’ through Kickstarter;
