Donkydocs stands for the filmwork by Margot Donkervoort (1964).
After art-college Margot made educational and youth programmes for Dutch public television.
In 2000 she moved with her husband to the South West of France to do small scale agriculture and tourism. Seven years later she picked up the camera to film her environment. ‘La Valse Muette ‘ as well as ‘ Hermine et les autres’ were the result. At the heart of her documentaries are her tender and respectful images.
Her fascination for the small things that make them stand out is a returning theme in her documentaries as well as in her commercial films.
A personal document about an old friend of 93 years of age,was broadcasted on Dutch TV, ’Ongeneeslijk Oud / Incurable Old.
She has just finished ‘ Petites merveilles du Sud-Ouest’, in which a portrait of five remarquable local craftsman shows a beauty that could easily have been overseen.
At the moment she has just completed a film on command about the project PIAF (Interdisciplinary Programm on indigenous indicators of Fauna and Flora) for Ann Sourdril, CNRS.
